Welcome to All Hallows’ School, a community alive with the charism of Catherine McAuley and the traditions and culture of our 160-year history. Established in 1861, All Hallows’ is grounded in the Catholic traditions and values of the Sisters of Mercy. Catherine McAuley’s vision lives on today as the first girls’ school in Queensland and the oldest secondary School in the State.
At All Hallows’, we believe that education must not only be God-centred, it must provide girls and young women with a holistic education of the highest standard. What does this mean at All Hallows’ as we head into the third decade of the 21st century? We believe that our girls are best prepared for life by developing their thinking, problem-solving, personal reflection and communication skills, that they need to experience and respond to an academically rigorous and intellectually challenging curriculum, and that they must be not only technologically competent but also technologically critical individuals.
Project: The Aquinas Project
In July 2020, All Hallows’ School celebrated the completion of the first stage of the 2019–2025 Facilities Master Plan, with the official opening of the renovation of Aquinas Hall and Tuckshop, and the new Café 547.
It is paramount for us to ensure boys at BBC are resilient – by doing so, A New School of Thought can safeguard the most important ingredient to success: confidence.
At BBC, we are acutely aware that many of our students will graduate into jobs and careers which have not yet been created. We must ‘future-proof ’ our students by developing young men who not only have strong foundational knowledge, but who are also critical thinkers, with creative and curious minds, and a collaborative disposition.
Recognising that knowledge-based learning is no longer enough, Brisbane Boys’ College has adopted an innovative approach to education that integrates best-practice teaching and learning with the science of wellbeing, placing an emphasis on building resilience and confidence.
We refer to this approach as:
A New School of Thought.
Project: BBC Foundation
The BBC Foundation is dedicated solely to meeting the needs of BBC and supporting our College as an outstanding learning environment. We invest in our boys as the next generation of leaders, innovators and change makers. The only way we are able to do this is through being part of a committed community, which has fostered a culture of connection and philanthropy spanning more than 100 years.
The role of the Foundation is to nurture our culture of philanthropy amongst parents, Old Collegians and friends of the College to raise financial support to fund various developments at the College.
Mt Maria College is a secondary, Catholic, co-educational College in the Brisbane suburb of Mitchelton.
Graduates of Mt Maria College are challenged to continue to strive for their personal best as they take their place in our global community and make their mark on the world professionally and personally.
Each student’s gifts are nurtured intellectually, socially, physically, culturally and spiritually and developed with the College motto of, “Strong Mind, Compassionate Heart” in mind.
Inspired by the legacy of St Marcellin Champagnat, students live out the Marist characteristics of presence, simplicity, love of work and family spirit in the way of Mary in the classroom, on the playground and in the broader Mt Maria Community.
Project: Students Gaining Sporting or Cultural Representative Honours
From time to time students from Mt Maria College are selected in district, regional, state and national sporting teams. This normally occurs as a result of participation in representative school teams. Sometimes, however, such honours are gained without prior school representation. Students also perform with distinction in other fields of endeavour, such as artistic, academic or community activities.
The Parents & Friends Association considers that all such students are ambassadors for their school and deserve recognition and support. As a result, the Association is prepared to offer financial assistance of up to $100 to the parents/guardians of such students to help offset the costs involved.
Padua College is an enriching and nurturing educational community which offers young men the opportunity to discover and develop their individual talents and interests within a vibrant and caring Christian environment. An independent day school for boys from years 5 to 12, Padua is the only school in Australia owned by the Franciscan Order. We are a Catholic institution that is distinctively Franciscan. Together with our Paduan families we raise young men who are joyous, engaging, confident and possessed of a quiet strength and character which enables them to achieve and contribute positively to their community and to the world far beyond the College campus.
Through the pursuit of wisdom, faith and service, Padua supports young men to find and develop their individual passions and talents and ultimately become the very best they can be.
Project: Fund Creative Industries Senior Music Program
Throughout their years of schooling at Padua, this class has engaged in various activities to build their own personal connection to Music, we would like to continue this ideal and fund new and innovative activities.
Preparing girls to make their mark…
St John Fisher College has a holistic approach to education promoting your daughter’s spiritual, social, emotional and physical growth along with her academic learning. It is a vibrant community where girls are encouraged to become fully involved in the life of the College. We share and celebrate the gifts and talents of all members of our community.
Founded in 1981 on Mercy tradition, the College was inspired by St John Fisher, a Chancellor of Cambridge University who was known for his academic passion and social justice work. Our Catholic values underpin all we do; girls are taught values such as faith, kindness, honesty and compassion, that last a lifetime.
Project: Shelterbox Appeal
Following the deadly explosion in Beirut, St John Fisher College with Rotary Aspley will be fundraising to support an initiative called Shelterbox. The explosion has killed at least 170 people, injured 65000 and left 300,000 people without homes, decimating the city and the livelihoods of locals.
Shelterboxes are big green boxes containing family-sized tents designed to withstand elements, providing emergency shelter to those affected, until they can rebuild their home. One shelter box costs $1100 and every dollar is one step towards providing the temporary shelter many families need in emergencies.
